Thank you for your interest in taking part in the 2019 Dunedin Puaka Matariki Festival, and applying for our contestable funding.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Please read the Registration and Funding Application Guide before you apply.

There are two parts to this form, the Event Registration and the Funding Application.

If you do not need funding for your event, please complete only the Event Registration Form.

It’s important you answer all the questions on this form, unless marked optional.  We will use your answers to questions 1‒10 to promote your event in the Festival programme. Please make sure these answers are suitable for publication. We will contact you before we publish the Festival programme to confirm that these details are still correct.

Event registrations and funding applications close at 5pm, Wednesday 1 May 2019.

No late applications will be accepted.

Part 2: Funding Application

There are three funding areas you can apply to. Please tick the box next to the area which applies to your event:


List the costs for your event.

  • This could include: venue or equipment hire, performers fee, kai, poster printing, etc.
  • For example: COST 1: Venue Hire $150.
  • You do not need to fill all the spaces provided.
  • Plant, equipment, fixtures and chattels, and unsustainable items (such as plastic disposable utensils) are not eligible for funding.
List your costs here, line by line. Total at the end.

List the income for your event

Including the amount you are requesting from the Puaka Matariki Contestable Fund.

  • Other income could include grants or donations, estimated ticket sales or admission fees, koha etc.
  • For example: Income 2: Ticket Sales $300.
  • Please also remember to include in-kind contributions, such as volunteer time and donated goods and services. List each item of income on a separate line, and provide a TOTAL at the end.

Bank account details

This is the account we will pay your grant into, if your application is successful.

You must attach proof of these details from your bank. This could be a bank deposit slip, a screen shot of your bank account name and number, or a copy of a bank statement. Please attach these to this application in the place provided.

The contestable funding applicant’s name and the creditor’s name must match.

Supporting documents

If you apply for less than $2500, please provide a budget review of previous events or letters of support.

If you apply for $2500 or more, you must also send us a full budget and quotes for your costs along with reviews of previous events or letters of support.

All funding applications must be sent with your supporting documents e.g. budget(s) and letters of support. Please include the name of your event on all documents.
