He Tāpiri – EXTRA EVENT: Nocturnal Projections and Other Small Happenings

10 Jul , 2017

Nocturnal Projections and Other Small Happenings is an exhibition of sound and light, showcasing contemporary New Zealand artists with outdoor, site-specific art works.
Tucked into small nooks and crannies between buildings in downtown Dunedin’s nationally significant Heritage Precinct, and taking advantage of early nightfall, this extension to the Puaka Matariki Festival provides a further opportunity for Dunedin folk to celebrate winter in our special place, through interacting with contemporary art.
Encouraging us to look closely at and treasure where we are over the coldest months of the year, this warming exhibition features renowned national and local artists – including Jed Town, Francis Steven, Leben Young, Motoko Kikkawa, Stuart Griffiths, and students from Queen’s High School; curated by Cath Cocker and installed by Justin Keable.

Venues around Dunedin Central – check the website cathcocker.wixsite.com/nocturnal for details.

Tuesday 11 July to Friday 11 August, times vary. FREE
